It’s the life that our staff, students, parents, alumni and friends of the College share as we come together in unity of heart and Spirit that makes our College community so special. Together we support one another and create a community that we can be proud to be part of.
Freshwater Christian College has a vibrant parent community. As a private independent Christian school in Cairns, we are passionate about creating and enhancing our community and actively promote and encourage parent involvement at all levels. There are many ways for parents and guardians to get involved in the life of the College.
Parent Class Ambassadors
The Parent Class Ambassadors group is a collective voice of parents and guardians who have a passion and deep commitment to further strengthen the community we enjoy together. Everyone is welcome to join us. For more details, please enquire today at the College Reception.
Freshwater Friends Coffee Mornings
On the first Friday of each month during the College term, our parents are invited to join us at our ‘Freshwater Friends Coffee Mornings’. Held in the Freshwater Church Cafe from 8am to 9.30am these mornings give parents and available staff the opportunity to get to know each other and enjoy a free coffee.
Parent Forums & Online Surveys
We encourage parents to share opinions and work together as a community to enhance our College. Our ‘Parent Forums’ are held regularly at Freshwater Christian College and provide parents an opportunity to voice their opinion and enter into a discussion concerning topics of interest at the College. Online surveys will also be conducted to adequately gather a wide range of opinions and ideas.
Volunteer in Class
Parents are welcome to join in on class activities. At the start of the school year, parents are invited to join us at our Volunteer Induction Morning where you can gain a better understanding of how to get more involved in your child’s classroom activities.
Freshwater Christian College has a rich and wonderful history. Since our commencement back in 1983, thousands of students have graduated from the College. All alumni are invited to remain connected with FCC by registering their details with us. Keep up to date with any alumni activities that may be upcoming.

Relocating to Cairns?
The Cairns region is where the Reef meets the rainforest, and has what many consider to be a near-perfect climate, balmy yet warm all year-round. Near the heart of the City, you will find Freshwater, a residential suburb of Cairns with excellent access to the CBD, the Airport and northern beaches. Locals consider the area one of the premier suburbs of the City, featuring some of the best housing in the region. It is also home to Freshwater Christian College, the highest performing school in Far North Queensland in 2019. There are many parks, restaurants and cafes to choose from and despite its central location, Freshwater is surprisingly tranquil.
