Freshwater Falcons Fly High at Volleyball Cup!

Nov 16, 2020 | Senior Secondary, Sport

This year’s FNQ Volleyball Schools Cup was held in week one of term four. Our Freshwater Falcons teams excelled, with all three teams showing great skill and teamwork on the court against schools from all around our region.

Our Senior Boys team won all but one game throughout the day to finish fifth out of the thirteen schools. An incredible individual achievement for this team was from Ben Steel, who was voted the ‘Most Valuable Player’ of the Senior Boys competition!

Our Junior Girls team got off to a slow start but got through with some much-deserved wins to finish their carnival.

However, the most outstanding achievement was from our Junior Boys team, who went all the way and took out the trophy. To make this feat even more impressive, they achieved this without dropping a single set for the entire competition. Congratulations also to Peter Kokiai-Jacobs who was named ‘Player of the Final’.

Well done to all of our incredible students who took part in this competition. You have done yourselves and your school very proud.
