Secondary School

Over the six years of Secondary School at Freshwater Christian College, we work with our students to develop and challenge them academically, socially, emotionally, physically and spiritually, preparing them for their life beyond school.

Freshwater is ranked as one of the top-performing high schools in Far North Queensland with a growing reputation for academic excellence. We achieve excellent learning outcomes for our students by continually engaging in innovative practices that deliver results both in and out of the classroom. Our teachers know their students, and work with them to help ensure that they all reach their full potential.

Why Secondary at Freshwater?

Innovative Learning

Beginning in Year 7, students are issued with a laptop, providing access to an engaging and innovative educational environment that blends online learning with a traditional classroom-based experience.

Personalised Learning

We maximise the learning experience of each student utilising learning-data and performance tracking methodologies. This ensures that each student progresses relative to their potential. Our Mathematics program utilises adaptive learning technology to engage and inspire students to reach for their best.

Beyond the Classroom

Students participate in activities outside the classroom environment across all subject areas, strengthening their skills in areas such as: leadership, teamwork, problem solving, and resilience building.

Junior Secondary

Our Junior Secondary curriculum focuses on allowing our students to develop their wider learning through a range of elective subjects according to their passions and interests.
