Our Second Year Curriculum
At Freshwater, our Cairns Secondary School curriculum evolves progressively from Year 7 to Year 12, offering a specialised approach tailored to each student’s growth. Rooted in traditional academic disciplines, our program integrates modern technologies and perspectives, preparing students for the challenges of the future. Beyond classroom boundaries, our curriculum extends to outdoor education and a diverse range of co-curricular activities.
Innovative Learning
Beginning in Year 7, students are issued with a laptop, providing access to an engaging and innovative educational environment that blends online learning with a traditional classroom-based experience.
Personalised Learning

Junior Secondary
Our Junior Secondary curriculum focuses on allowing our students to develop their wider learning through a range of elective subjects according to their passions and interests. Our core subjects are English, Mathematics, Humanities, Japanese, Health and Physical Education, Science and Christian Studies

Senior Secondary
Year Ten students study the core subjects of English, Maths, Science and Humanities. They also choose from a range of engaging electives. Year Ten is a foundational year to develop concepts and knowledge for your child’s entry into Years 11 and 12 where they are offered a full range of academic and/or vocational programs to set them up for their careers and life beyond school.
Students also participate in chapels, camps, Christian Living studies and PGP (sport and enrichment activities).
