Photo and video regulations
Visitors, families, and volunteers are not to use their personal electronic devices to take photographs or videos of their children (or any child) in our service.
Our educators can take a photo of you and your child on one of our service devices if you require. This includes Bush Kindergarten, Athletics, or Chapel, as well as events such as Mother’s Day and Father’s Day held within our kindergarten grounds.
Please be aware that at any public College events such as the Colour Run, Book Parades, or Open Days, your child may be photographed or videoed by anyone in the public.
Our Kindy Groups
We have three rooms operating daily including a 3 year old program and a 4 year old program. The programs will be a little different in each room as the activities set out are dependent on the individual children, although all programming follows the Early Years Curriculum. The staff program and plan around our 5 days a fortnight, or weekly attendance schedules.

Eligibility for Kindergarten
To secure the enrolment of your child you will need to do the following:
● Complete our online Child Enrolment Record.
● Attach copies of your child’s Birth Certificate/Passport and Medicare Immunisation statement.
● Pay a non-refundable application fee of $110 to be paid as part of our online enrolment form (if your child continues onto Freshwater Christian College Prep, this deposit covers the enrollment fee for Prep).

Smooth Transition to Prep
At Freshwater Christian Kindergarten, every child is seen, heard, and supported. Our educators focus on each child’s individual needs, helping them develop confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning that prepares them for a smooth transition to Prep and life in the College.
Nature Playground
Our Cairns Kindy also offers a fantastic Bush Kindy program, nestled within our 40-acre property on site. This unique program gives children the opportunity to explore, play, and learn in nature. Hands-on Learning, The Bush Kindy Way
Held two mornings per week during Terms 2 and 3, our Bush Kindy program transforms the outdoors into a living classroom full of adventure.
Kindy kids discover bugs, plants, and natural spaces; they climb, splash, and get delightfully muddy—all while building coordination, teamwork, and problem-solving skills that prepare them for school and for life.

Enrichment Activities
Freshwater Christian Kindergarten, Where Learning is Serious Fun
Freshwater Kindergarten is proud to have a learning environment that nurtures the whole child. Our various enrichment activities foster their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development so every child grows into a confident, well-rounded learner.
Primary School Chapel
Each week, our Cairns Kindy children join the Junior Primary School for Chapel. It’s a joyful time where they sing, share, and celebrate together, while also learning about Christian values in a way that’s meaningful for their age.
Library Lessons
Children get to experience Library Lessons just like ‘big kids’ in school they visit the librarian every week. Their library lessons support and foster literacy skills.
Music Lessons
Students will participate in weekly lessons with our Primary School Music Teacher. Music helps build language, social-emotional, gross motor and literacy skills. Not only is it good for development- it is a lot of fun!
Carnivals, Book Week + More!
The Freshwater calendar is always full of fun community events our Kindy Kids enjoy getting involved with. A highlight of the calendar is our Book Week Parade, especially for the teachers too!
Sports Lessons
Our Kindy children enjoy sports lessons that are a fantastic opportunity to build strength, coordination, and confidence. Through a variety of fun activities like ball games, running, and jumping, they develop crucial gross motor skills while having a great time.
