At Freshwater Christian College we have a diverse variety of options for students to explore and enhance their personal giftings and talents. Art in school is a popular option and our art program enables students to grow in skills and build their confidence in presenting and submitting items into a number of school art competitions.y. This year we are proud to announce that a select number of Studio Arts and Visual Arts students ranging from Years 7 to 11 entered the Cairns Show Art Exhibition with great results!
Our school represented a number of categories including, sculpture, digital art, drawing, and painting.
- Congratulations to the first prize winners; Sarah Newton (Year 11) Open Digital Category, Abbygail Stringer (Year 10) Secondary Sculpture Category, and Jenevieve Nucifora (Year 8) Junior Drawing Category.
- Congratulations also go to Madi Rees (Year 9) for being awarded second place in the Secondary Drawing Category and
- High Commended Awards were given to Briannon McDowell (Year 9), Ethan Harris (Year 9), and Amanea Powell (Year 9) for their drawings entered into the Secondary Drawing Category.
- Well done to all the other students who also entered this year’s Cairns Show Visual Art exhibition, Tristyn Mahutariki, Mali Camilleri, Samuel Wakeling, Amelie Cooper, and Maddy Coulthard.
A wonderful showcase of students’ talent and dedication to their artmaking!
