Kindergarten
We are focused on creating a safe, caring, happy and nurturing early childhood learning environment to prepare your child for their lifelong learning journey. By building strong relationships with our families, our dedicated Christian educators get to know each child individually to allow our team to provide an inspirational, engaging and yet challenging play-based learning program. We work closely with the Prep teachers to ensure that every student experiences an excellent start to their Primary years. With so many things to learn about and play with, we look forward to your child’s adventure at Freshwater Kindy.

Smooth Transition to Prep
One of the most important aspects of Kindy is our focus on the development of a relationship with every child. We get to know them really well, cater to every child’s individual needs, and keep them happy and on track with their learning journey.
Bush Kindy Program
Our unique Bush Kindy program provides Kindy Kids with the opportunity to explore our wonderful bushland setting including the creek and rainforest ecosystem.
Our Nature Playground
Our fantastic nature playground enables our Kindy Kids to explore the natural environment around them, providing opportunities to ignite their creativity and imagination.
Conveniently Located in Brinsmead
Freshwater Christian Kindergarten is located on the grounds of Freshwater College in a beautiful tropical setting. We provide your child with many opportunities to join in with the ‘big kids’ and participate in College activities such as College carnivals and fairs. Visits to the College library are always an adventure full of excitement as each child makes that tough decision as to which book to take home. Our children join with the Primary school for weekly Chapel where we all come together to sing and learn more about Jesus.
More than a Kindy Program
Our Kindergarten Program offers an extensive list of fun and engaging activities onsite at our Primary school. Our comprehensive programs give our children the opportunity to experience regular school activities which prepare them for their step up into Primary school.
Primary School Chapel
Each week our Kindy Kids join the Junior Primary School at Freshwater Church for Chapel where children praise and learn about Jesus, sing the national anthem and watch our peers get awards.
Library Lessons
Our children get to experience Library Lessons just like ‘big kids’ in school they visit the librarian every week. Their library lessons support and foster literacy skills.
Swimming Lessons
Living in the tropics we place a high priority on swim safety. We have partnered with the team at C-Me-Swim and in term four students participate in an offsite learn-to-swim program.
Music Lessons
Students will participate in weekly lessons with our Primary School Music Teacher. Music helps build language, social-emotional, gross motor and literacy skills. Not only is it good for development- it is a lot of fun!
Sports Lessons
Once a week our Kindy Kids join Junior Primary students to participate in a gross motor program. Ball games, running, jumping and an all-around fun lesson. It’s always a highlight of the week!
Carnivals, Book Week + More!
The Freshwater calendar is always full of fun community events our Kindy Kids enjoy getting involved with. A highlight of the calendar is our Book Week Parade, especially for the teachers too!
