Teacher Aide - Learning Support Position

Freshwater Christian College invites suitably qualified non-teaching Learning Support (teacher aides) professionals to submit an application for a term-time position commencing shortly. 

Working three days per week during school Terms, the ideal candidate will: 

  • Hold a current positive notice (Qld Working with Children Check) Blue Card;
  • Have received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccination; 
  • Be able to sign and abide by the College’s Statement of Faith and Lifestyle Statement;
  • Be able to abide by the Staff Code of Conduct at all times;

Maintenance Support

Freshwater Christian College invites applications for a permanent full-time Maintenance Support person commencing as soon as possible. 

About the role

The Maintenance Support person is responsible for maintaining the College buildings and grounds to a high standard. 

The successful candidate will be Fully aligned with the values, virtues, and Christian beliefs of Freshwater Christian College, and be seeking a role where they are able to utilise their talents and skills to make a difference in the lives of our students, and the College community. 

This position is permanent full-time. 

Key responsibilities include

  • Maintain College buildings and grounds in a secure, functioning, clean and presentable state;
  • Internal Deliveries to various college areas on a daily basis;
  • Scheduled maintenance and cleaning; 
  • Service buildings and grounds maintenance equipment and machinery or to arrange for same;
  • Construct landscape and building works including drains, paths, garden walls, edges, etc., including carpentry and concrete work;
  • Assist the Director of Operations with projects and oversight of contractors;
  • Moving furniture as necessary;

 

Skills and experience include

Essential: 

  • Hold or be able to obtain a positive notice (Working with Children Check) Blue Card;
  • Have received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccination; 
  • Be able to sign and abide by the College’s Statement of Faith and Lifestyle Statement;
  • Be able to abide by the Staff Code of Conduct at all times;
  • Be highly motivated and able to work independently;
  • Be willing to learn and take on responsibilities;

Highly Regarded:

  • Previous experience in a school operations team;
  • Experience with Google suite of programs at an intermediate level; 
  • Clear communication skills;
  • Machinery Licences eg; HR/MR;
  • Trade Certificate/s.

Outside School Hours Care Educators

We are seeking talented and committed Educators to join our outstanding Outside School Hours Care team. They will be assisting with delivery of the quality education program and practice, providing direct supervision and supporting all children to participate in the program. The position is on a casual basis and hours will vary. Shifts include Before School Care, After School Care and Vacation Care. 

Skills and experience

The successful candidate will 

  • Hold a positive notice (Working with Children Check) Queensland Blue Card;
  • Hold an AQF Certificate III in Children’s Services or equivalent or higher qualification, or the ability to acquire;
  • Have sufficient knowledge and understanding of the National Quality Framework, My Time Our Place Framework and the National Law/Regulations;
