As part of Freshwater Christian College, our Kindy program offers more than just preparation for Prep—we provide a safe, nurturing environment where your child is known, loved, and encouraged to grow in every area of life.

Situated within the beautiful grounds of Freshwater Christian College in Cairns, our purpose-built Kindy is a place where children can flourish. Surrounded by nature and guided by Christian values, children enjoy a play-based, child-led curriculum that supports their social, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual development.

Our Kindy is a warm, welcoming space for both children and families. We understand that sending your child to Kindergarten is a big step, so we’re committed to making that transition smooth and meaningful. Our teaching team includes passionate early childhood educators who understand how children learn best—through play, exploration, and loving guidance. Our Kindy Program

Our Christian Kindergarten program is designed for children aged 4 years by 30 June in the year they attend. We operate during school terms and offer a five-day fortnight program:

• Group A: Monday, Tuesday and every second Wednesday

• Group B: Thursday, Friday and every second Wednesday

• Hours: 8:30am to 2:45pm

We follow the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines and align our program with the Early Years Learning Framework, with a strong focus on holistic development. From messy play to early literacy, imaginative play to science investigations, our learning experiences are engaging, age-appropriate, and meaningful.

Because we are part of Freshwater Christian College, children also enjoy the unique opportunity to be part of a larger school community—with access to facilities like the library, music and PE lessons, and shared events with older students. This makes the transition to Prep far less daunting and helps children feel confident and connected from the very beginning.
